Tooth Whitening - Britesmile

Day to day activities such as drinking tea, coffee, colas, red wine and smoking tobacco can cause undue stress and strain on the colour of your teeth.

If you are not happy with the colour of your teeth, we have a solution!

At Centennial Smiles we have two options:

1. Britesmile - in chair one hour whitening.

Britesmile is a leading in-clinic one-visit walk in-walk out procedure, which can dramatically whiten teeth up to nine shades lighter. The most advanced tooth whitening procedure available, Britesmile is simple, comfortable and completely safe. With Britesmile you get superior results that last for years.  The current fee of $890 includes four twenty minuite sessions in the one appointment and also includes impression trays so that we can issue take home trays and whitening gel so that you can maintain your smile.

2. Take-home tooth bleaching kit.

We take impressions of your top and bottom teeth. Very thin trays are made with soft plastic that are like tiny mouthguards. We provide you with a kit that has the bleaching gel. You place the gel inside the trays and wear the trays for between 4 and 8 hours per day. Some people choose to sleep with the trays in place. Other people find it more convenient to wear them during waking hours.

Depending on the amount of discolouration of your teeth, you may need to wear the bleaching trays for between one and two weeks.

Whitening your teeth will provide an instant lift to your smile to give you that extra confidence to show them off!

Why have my teeth discoloured?

Our teeth discolour for many reasons, the most common causes is what we eat and drink, red wine, coloured soft drinks, tea and coffee, avocado, carrots and of course smoking - everyday life things. Also, teeth tend to darken with age and genetics is another unfortunate and common cause. The use of antibiotics during childhood and Tetracycline can also contribute to discolouration problems.

What can I do to have white teeth again?

There are many products available that claim to give you results. Whitening Toothpastes, paint on whitening gels, etc. Only Professional Tooth Whitening will give you beautiful white teeth again, results that are permanent. We give you the fast permanent results you have been looking for.

Will my teeth stay white forever?

Our Tooth Whitening Process will give you permanent results, however, you may need to do touch-up whitening, every 8 to 12 months for a day or two as your teeth become exposed to staining culprits again over time.

Does Whitening Toothpastes and paint on gels work?

The Australian and American Dental Associations have extensively researched these products and believe that these products do little to whiten your teeth because their active ingredients are in very low concentration.

Who can benefit from tooth whitening?

Almost everyone. However, there are some cases where treatment may not be effective. Tooth whitening is ideal for people who have healthy, unrestored teeth and would like a whiter, brighter smile.

Note: Pregnant and lactating women should avoid Tooth Whitening.

Will whitening harm my teeth or gums?

No! Tooth Whitening has been researched for over 10 years now and this research has proven that it is safe for your teeth and gums when used as directed.

Are there any side effects from tooth whitening?

Some patients experience slight temporary tooth sensitivity. This usually only lasts for a few days, as your teeth become use to the whitening process. We can provide a soothing gel to place in the trays if your teeth become uncomfortable. Tooth Whitening does not cause permanent tooth sensitivity.

Will my crowns, fillings or other dental work respond to Whitening?

No! Only your natural teeth will respond to the Whitening gel. Remember that over time you may choose to change these crowns and fillings and you should whiten your teeth before so that your dentist can match your new white teeth.
