It seems like life gets busier with each passing year. For many families, fitting in everyone’s necessary appointments poses a real challenge. At Centennial Smiles, we prioritise convenience, so that it is easy for families to maintain a healthy, comfortable smile.

Couple | Cosmetic Dentist in Randwick NSWWhen Dental Crowns Are Necessary

Anytime the structure of a tooth is in jeopardy, whether from deep decay or trauma or even because of old, large fillings, a crown can add years onto the life of the tooth.

A crown, sometimes called a cap, covers the remaining tooth structure and protects it from chewing forces. A properly designed crown can also reduce sensitivity or even make an ageing tooth look new again.

If you are worried about pain during a procedure, you will be happy to know that today’s anaesthetic and delivery techniques make pain-free dentistry possible. We will always ensure you are comfortable throughout your appointment. Dr Dunn's gentle nature puts even the most nervous patients at ease.

How CEREC Same-Day Crowns Work

CEREC, short for ceramic reconstruction, makes it possible to have your final crown in just one visit to the dentist because it eliminates the need for an outside dental lab. Instead, we create your crown right here in our clinic during your appointment, saving time – something our patients truly appreciate.

Dental Crowns in Randwick NSWNo More Impressions

Rather than taking impressions of your tooth, we use digital scanning software to capture the size and shape of your tooth. This information is used by our CEREC machine to design your crown.

Durable and Aesthetic Ceramic

Modern dentistry makes it possible to enjoy both function and beauty when it comes to dental crowns.

Our CEREC milling machine, which uses advanced robotics, will create your final crown from a single piece of strong ceramic. Dr Dunn will use his artistic touch to match the shade and colouring of the surrounding teeth so that it blends in perfectly.

No one will notice your dentistry – just your smile.

Quality from Start to Finish

Since Dr Dunn orchestrates the entire process, his attention to detail ensures a perfect fit and outcome that can last for many years to come with the proper ongoing home and professional care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Man at Dentist | Crowns Randwick, NSWAt Centennial Smiles, we use CAD/CAM technology to digitally scan and create a durable and aesthetic ceramic crown in one appointment. This eliminates the need to wait for a final restoration from a dental lab, which can take two to three weeks. For patients who want both quality and convenience, CEREC is a practical alternative. Dr Andrew Dunn orchestrates the entire process from beginning to end, ensuring quality and accuracy every step of the way. We transfer this information into our in-house robotic crown creation machine that mills the crown from a single piece of high-quality ceramic.

The Dental Crown Process

Dr Dunn will match the crown to the surrounding teeth. He will make final adjustments to the surface of the crown so that teeth bite together comfortably and function well for chewing. You can treat your crown very much like a natural tooth – keep it clean, take good care of the gum tissue and be sure to maintain your regular dental hygienist appointments.
